Calling all creatives, regardless of genre or age! The Hairpin Arts Center is excited to announce a general Open Call, inviting artists to become a part of our thriving community. Through this Open Call, we aim to select artists for monthly features aligned with unique event themes. Additionally, we're actively seeking artists for various exhibitions, providing dedicated space to showcase their work.
First Fridays
Monthly Showcase: Join us every first Friday of the month for First Fridays, a recurring event featuring a diverse array of artistic talents.
There Is No Deadline for Participation.
There's no cutoff! To be a featured artist or performer, submit your portfolio at any time for consideration. Please note that submitting your portfolio for First Fridays will be curated monthly. For example, submitting in January will be considered for participation in March or April.
Special Opportunities
for Selected Artists:
Gallery Openings: Featured artists have the chance to host their own gallery openings.
Curate Group Exhibitions & Performances : Take the lead in curating group exhibitions and showcase your artistic vision or musical talents.

Once you've submitted your work, stay tuned for updates. Our team will review each submission carefully, and you will receive notifications regarding the status of your entry.
To be eligible, participants must be residing in Chicago. While there is no specific age limit, artists under a certain age may require parental guidance when accepting contracts and participating in events.
We embrace all genres, all forms of media, and artists of all ages. Whether you're an emerging talent or an established creator, we invite you to be a part of this diverse and inclusive artistic journey.
